Willie Tokarev, the most famous singer in the style “Russian shanson”

Entered the Leningrad Music College at the Conservatoire in the class of double bass. On the stage the musician appeared as a jazz double bass player.

Further on Willie Tokarev was recognized as the author-songwriter and performer. In 1974 emigrated to America. In 1979, he released his first cassette, the remaining almost unnoticed. The next one was called "In a noisy booth" and contained songs stylized as restaurant and thieves. It was she who brought the Russian singer a fame: Willie Tokarev - the king of emigration - became a star.

In 1980 worked in restaurants and created his own label «One Man Band», about 20 musical albums were recorded.

Then in 1989 long-awaited tours to the Soviet Union took place.

In 2005 returned to Moscow and opened his studio, where new songs of the artist were recorded.

Since 2006 – a honorary resident of Tagansky district of Moscow.
